Gourmet Hot Chocolate at Suffolk holiday cottages

When we conducted our holiday lettings survey, many people said they enjoyed cooking and eating in when on holiday. With thoughts turning to cold weather and seasonal celebrations, here's our hot chocolate recipe with a kick to warm up this winter.

Gently heat 1 1/2 cups milk in a saucepan.

Gradually add 85% cocoa dark chocolate to taste. Melt into the milk, stirring continuously.

Pour the mixture into two cups, about 3/4 full.

Add 25 ml Cointreau.

Top up with frothed milk from Nespresso coffee machine and stir.

Dust with cocoa powder and enjoy in front of the fire at Stay Barn or Wheelers Cottage.

Experiment

Alternatives include a shot of espresso with white chocolate hot chocolate; a shot of Baileys in hot chocolate or coffee works well too.
