We have chosen suppliers of special experiences for the unique quality, first class reputation, and that 'something extra' they offer our guests.

Performance car hire

Dropped off at your door or collect from London - enjoy the flat out straights of the A12 to East Anglia (national speed limit applies! Beware of Speed Cameras...) Members of our Country Weekends Club qualify for Club rates.

Luxury Sailing

Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and soak up the invigorating sea air and first class services of one of the UK’s premier boating locations. Situated in Ipswich, our chosen partner has a fleet of both sailing yachts and power boats fully equipped to provide everything for a truly bespoke exceptional day. From relaxed and informal entertainment for business guests or personal pleasure these are sailing days delivered with style, dedication and outstanding attention to detail.

Shooting in Suffolk

For experienced Guns who wish to enjoy a traditional private Suffolk shoot. Bespoke days for 6-9 guests or last minute spaces on a stand-by basis.

Private Chef

Gemma Haining graduated with distinction from the Leith's School of Fine Food and Wine. She has an impressive list of clients, who commend her skills as a first class cook. Services include: drop off food, posh picnics, casual suppers and fine dining. By appointment only.

The Cooking Experience

Chef Mark David has a cooking school in Hadleigh where fun and hands-on cooking is the order of the day rather than preaching. There are cooking days for all levels of experience. Mark's illustrious career includes a spell as an Egon Ronay inspector and as restaurant manager for Robert Carrier at Hintlesham Hall. As an engaging personality and chef, Mark David's media appearances include TV's Cash in The Attic, GMTV Christmas Cooking and local radio. 

Creative Courses

A great way to master something you have always wanted to do or bond with the rest of the family over a joint activity. Our expert private tutors offer photography, drawing & painting, basket weaving and cookery classes. By appointment only.

Golf

With four golf courses nearby, Suffolk Character Cottages makes the perfect base for golfers of all levels. All distinctively different courses, there is something for everyone: two championship courses at Stoke By Nayland, the grand grounds of Hintlesham Hall, the modest but beautiful Brett Vale and the quirky Newton Green.
