What we do with the information you give us

Your personal details

In order to process your booking, we need to collect certain personal details from you. These details will usually include the names and addresses of party members.

Financial information

Credit/debit card or bank account details will be required to process your booking. Bank details and credit card details are not held on file by Suffolk Character Cottages but may be retained by the merchant banking system for the purposes of refunding security damages deposits. Suffolk Character Cottages has been approved by merchant banks to provide secure online payments.

Your ID

All guests who book will need to show identification on arrival in order to to gain access to the property rental: passport or driving licence, proof of address e.g. a utility bill. These will be immediately returned to you and no copies taken or held on file.  

We need to pass on your personal details to companies and organisations who need to know them so that your holiday can be provided (for example the Greeting Manager for Suffolk Character Cottages, credit/debit card company or bank).

We are obliged by the Data Protection Act to request and hold information about overseas guests - see our terms and conditions.  We will not pass your details to 3rd parties unless you opt into this on your booking form by ticking our promotions box or requesting information about special experiences from 3rd party suppliers.

Promotional offers

In accordance with the data protection act, Suffolk Character Cottages sends emails to enquirers and previous guests with details of its future services and related 3rd party offers. It is possible to cancel any such promotional emails from Suffolk Character Cottage via the unsubscribe link within the email.

We promise to keep all personal details you give us in connection with your enquiry and booking confidential.  We have appropriate security measures in place to protect this information.

Guest privacy

Suffolk Character Cottages and its staff respect the privacy of guests and are discreet about the identity of guests.  

During your visit to Suffolk Character Cottages you will be afforded privacy in accordance with our terms and conditions.

We may publish guest feedback in publicity, but we will only use guest initials and never name the guest, unless permission is otherwise granted by the guest in writing.

This privacy policy relates only to Suffolk Character Cottages and not its third party suppliers of special experiences.
